MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries Gets September 2019 Release Date

Piranha Games revealed today that MechWarrior will return to its single-player roots on September 10, 2019, with the release of MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries.

Originally scheduled for a December 2018 launch, the first single-player focused MechWarrior title in more than 15 years will let us experience the life of a mercenary fighting in the Third and Fourth Succession Wars.

Oh, but did we say single-player? Looks like we are also getting a full co-op campaign, with up to four players taking on the AI forces in heated battles that will reduce cities to rubble and fill our pockets with C-Bills. As expected from a game with the subtitle “Mercenaries”, we’ll be able to choose which contracts to accept, shaping our unit’s future with our decisions.

Mech customization will also be heavily featured in this latest MechWarrior title, and broken parts will seemingly carry over between battles, as any ‘mech fan worth their salt would expect them to, forcing us to maintain a careful balance between repairs and upgrades should we intend to command a successful mercenary unit in the tough frontlines of the Succession Wars.
